The automotive industry is constantly changing, and with it, the automotive market. About a decade ago, cars that used alternative fuels were considered a luxury item. They were not very popular and were seen as a trend. Gasoline internal combustion engines will stay on top forever, right? Well, to everyone’s surprise, fossil fuels have only been around for so long, and with the number of studies proving their environmental damage, the decision to find greener alternatives grows exponentially with each generation. Now in the 21st century, electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have become the norm. Consumers may need an extra nudge when it comes to figuring out which alternative fuel vehicle is right for them, and Green Car Journal is the perfect guide with the 2023 Green Car Awards, recently naming the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV the ‘Family of 2023’.
